In this lesson you will hear Minor 7ths played upwards (ascending) and write them in music notation.

When trying to recognize a Minor 7th, we will use the “complete the melody” strategy.
When you hear a Minor 7th, attempt to imagine what note would naturally follow.

When you complete the melody, you can hear that the second interval is a Whole Step.
This means that the larger interval that was played first is a Minor 7th.
