The five lines that everything rests on are called the Staff.

This is called a Treble Clef. The Clef indicates whether the notes will be high or low in pitch.
Notes on the Treble Clef are high in pitch.

This is called a Barline.
A barline devides the music into short blocks called Measures.

Last but not least, this is a Note.

Now we will learn to read the note Middle C.

On the Treble Clef, Middle C looks like an olive with a toothpick through it.
It hangs off the bottom of the staff.
